What's hanging on the walls of your bathroom?
I've been painting today and we're planning on the bathroom being done this week (or at least every thing but the shower). We have a LOT of wall space in our bathroom....TONS...and I have no idea what to fill it with.
I am planning on a bath photo collage (4-6 pictures) of Avelyn...but beyond that I don't know. I have considered getting a couple of prints (like Monet, VanGogh etc) to put up.
Here's a sneak peak at the room.
The color is more yellowy-orange than the picture shows.

Oh I'm not much help in this area our bathroom is tiny. I have one little tiny print from target hanging by our sink. Boring but I can't wait to see the finished bathroom.
I would press leaves and matt and frame them. You can make a press. Ferns are nice, maybe a plant stand in the bath with a real fern. If you are handy you might be able to make frames out of sticks and twigs.
I turned some photos I liked into sepia tones, then matted and framed them myself. They are pictures I took traveling-French castle ruins, an orchard in Swoitzerland in the mist, the Eiffel tower from a weird angle that shows the moon, too. They remind me of happy trips I've taken, and the sepia tones kind of pull everything together with my color scheme.
Our bathrooms are pretty small. In the guest bat I have a wreath and that's about all I can hang in there! Have fun decorating!
"My" bathroom (as opposed to JD's which has nothing in it) has two framed prints - one of the Rokeby Venus and a Gauguin print of women at the bath. A friend calls it "The Lesbian Bathroom" because it's all naked women.
Gauguin would be a good idea for prints as your paint color would go with his images of Tahiti.
Absolutely nothing! And our other bathroom has been demo-ed for a year!
I am doing a "year in the life" of C on our walls. A picture of her everyday for year so it is a work in progress. By the time it is done, the bathroom will be floor to ceiling pictures of our little girl as she grows in 2010.
I tend not to hang prints/photos in bathrooms (at least the ones that get a lot of use), because I'm paranoid and fear that they -- even if framed -- will get destroyed by the water/steam.
But, as long as it's nothing irreplacable, if you have a lot of wall space, probably you'll need *something*
Hoping for some after pics!
I'm not help here because all we've got is towels. I have no idea what you're suppose to put on bathroom walls. When I was younger, one of my best friend's mom put up pictures of her kids taking a bath. But mostly now i see scenery shots with lots of flowers...Weird.
In our master bath there is only a clock and a huge swirly votive candle thing that holds like 12 candles. In the powder room, there are tiki masks as that is the theme. Miles bathroom is TBD as I'm thinking up a theme....
My upstairs bathroom has quite a bit of wall space.
On one wall, I have a large metal welded piece of artwork.
The other holds 3 wicker baskets hanging from hooks...I use them to hold towels, magazines, etc.
Somewhere along the line, I picked up a few "french" inspired prints that feature a dress, a handbag, things like that.
Right now I have two Monet prints I bought years ago hanging up with a small shelf holding a candle and a Willow Tree figurine. Otherwise, we've got a gigantic mirror that takes up the ENTIRE wall above the double+ sink. And an over-the-toilet shelf with things in it.
I love the idea of doing pictures of A... have you thought about doing a photoshoot with her doing bathtime-type stuff? Wrapped in a towel, playing in the tub with her hair spikey or covered in bubbles, holding a rubber ducky, etc.
