I figured you would all get a kick out of this.
My Oma (mom's mom) died in May 2000, my Opa died in Sept 2000 (both had been very sick for a long time). In 1995 they moved from Queens to where we live. When my grandparents died we cleaned out there house and my mom held onto kitchen items (pans, utensils etc) for me and my sister (I had graduated high school that year). She gave me a bunch of boxes, all of which went in my hope chest, for when I had a house.
I moved out in 2005 and all of that came to our house now. Some of it was in sealed boxes and some of it got put to use right away. There was one box which was sealed and had a 8" square pyrex dish with snap lid. I've been holding on to it, since I didn't really need one.
Last night I was telling Matt that I was opening a "wedding present" from my grandparents (which is what I called all of those kitchen things). I'm going on and on about how I'm going to use this dish for the ziti my mom sent down. I finally get the box opened (it was really well taped) and to my astonishment there is: 2 cans of evaporated milk, 1 can of cocktail peanuts, a whole slew of hard candies, and some big container of jelly candies...no pyrex pan.
I've been lugging this box around for 9 years, my grandparents had it for 5 years before that. All of us just kept transporting this box of evap milk, peanuts and candy....we're definitely a bunch of nuts.

That is pretty funny! Older people do things like that a lot.

Jess, Sadie is in the hospital...she'll be there until the babies are born. Just FYI... for prayers and good thoughts. You might already know this.
