Happy Thanksgiving (and a few other things)...

I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and were able to enjoy the day with (or without) your families. Matt's family all went to NH to visit his brother, which meant that we were able to go ONE place for Thanksgiving and eat ONE meal: WOOHOO! It was the awesomest thing! We didn't have to rush through one place just to get to the other and we didn't have to suffer through two meals and desserts.

In the morning Matt got up and went hunting (again). When he got home he hung all of the lights around the top roof. I cannot do this, I HATE being on a ladder that high up. I did only get one pictures...I wasn't threatened, that if I took pictures he would stop doing the lights: Hint taken. They do look great though, he did an awesome job!

In the afternoon we headed up to my aunt and uncle's for some Thanksgiving goodness. Dinner was delicious! I think we had enough food to feed an army...there were only 10 of us. There was the obligatory: Turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, crescent rolls, biscuits, but then there was also carrots, turnips, baked apples, and green salad. For dessert we had light faire: Apple pie, mincemeat pie, pumpkin pie, oatmeal scotchies, and chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake. If anyone left that table hungry it was their own dang fault!

After dinner my mother was insisting on getting a family picture for her Christmas cards. We (or at least my sister and I) all look HORRIBLE! in the picture. After that we came home and soon went to bed.

Today I got up and headed to work for a few hours (it wasn't an "official" day off for me). I was home by 1pm, so not too bad. In the afternoon I did some things around the house...namely trying to clean the mess! It's ridiculous! In the evening we headed up to my parents for dessert.

My friend (from last weekend) and his whole family came over for dessert. His brother is in the air force and is being stationed in England next week, so my mom wanted to have everyone over before he left. It was fun! So much different than the last time we were all together, which was probably at least 10 years ago. The family dinners, when once the food was gone, the kids got told to go play. I guess that means we're all grown ups now.

(In the first picture [click to zoom] the guy in the blue-ish shirt on the left is the one in the air force, the guy behind him is my friend, J, and the girl in the blue is his girlfriend).

All in all I guess the "holidays" have started well. Tomorrow Matt and I are sleeping in and then getting our Christmas tree, working on some things around the house in the afternoon, then back up to my parents for dinner (again!).
