On Celebrating Milestone Anniversaries

The other night we had a bit of fun. Matt and I, as well as his sister and our future brother in law (their wedding will be 1 year from when we went {May 4th}, took his parents and grandparents out for their 40th and 60th anniversaries {respectively}.

We have a small culinary school near us, that several times a semester opens to the public for dinners. We went several years ago and had a great time. Since there really are no good restaurants within a 45 mile drive of us, we decided this was the perfect thing to do.

The food was fantastic, 5 courses: I had a delicious lemon salad, a corn potage, crab fritters, salmon and rice, then a chocolate panna cotta for dessert. I had the camera sitting on the table the entire time and only thought at dessert to take pictures (I did that the last time we were there too).
It was really a great time to get to spend a few hours with family, just enjoying each others’ company. Plus, I got the awesomest picture EVER of Matt’s grandparents.

Chains do not hold a marriage together.  It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads which sew people together through the years.  ~Simone Signoret
