Bathroom Renos.....finished!

Well almost finished...

Oh and before I forget (because I keep doing that): HSG was clear...everything looks good.

Here's the full 360* recap of our previous bathroom. If you've never read about the glory of our bathroom, please go here. (Click on any picture to view it bigger).

Please notice the pile of clothes and plastic cart and folding table in the corner, also the lovely green pull chain dangling from the overhead light (picture #1); the lack of a toilet paper holder and the pull-up bar attached to the ceiling (picture#2); the lovely contraptions that surround our hideous green clawfoot tub (picture #3); the mess that is just every where in our bathroom, as well as the archaic sink, mirror (originally dated at 1969 per the inside stamp)(picture #4); note the loveliness that is the multi-head sprayer shower that the previous owner concocted out of copper piping, completely with razor holder (only for men) (picture #5).

Voila! (The pictures came out kind of yellow-ish; the color in the first picture next to the toilet is the truer color of the room).

Here's what we did:
*We gutted the entire bathroom down to the studs (Here and here)
*replaced all of the lath and plaster with mold resistant sheetrock (here)
*covered the terribly damaged wood floor with vinyl tile flooring
*remove all of the copper piping above the clawfoot tub and returned it to a tub
*installed a 60" stall shower with 2 shower heads, so that we could both shower at the same time (here)
*built walls around the shower, including the half-wall next to the vanity to protect the glass doors from dropped items (here and here)
*took an oak kitchen sink base, cut the back of it off to fit a standard sink top, stained the base Dark Walnut (also here)
*installed oak molding around the shower, also stained Dark Walnut
*repainted the exterior of the clawfoot tub to white with black feet (as opposed to the green with gold it was before)
*installed a door to the closet
*installed new trim molding around the windows, door, and room

The entire project cost us a little more than $4000, $1000 of which was paying someone to come install the shower pan and do the tile work (Matt had no time to do it, if we hadn't gotten someone to do it the bathroom still would probably not have a shower). We still have a bit to do
*some more decor on that blank wall above the towel rack
*build an oak cabinet around our laundry bags, with a changing table top

It feels so much cleaner now. I never felt like the room was clean before, in spite of how much time I would spend cleaning it. It's not perfect, but it's a heck of a lot better!
