“When a habit begins to cost money, it's called a hobby.” Jewish Proverb

My hobby certainly costs money, but as long as I have a little extra here and there to pursue my hobby, so be it!

Remember this? Well I finally started working on it. So far I have 2 of the 3 blocks done: Phew! I'm hoping to finish the last block tonight and get the borders stitched on. I plan on doing some red printes to punch of the few reds in the fabric.

I stand corrected: I thought this was a log-cabin block at first glance, but upon further inspection it is a courthouse steps block...which is a slight variation on a log cabin block. I'm not sure if I like doing a log-cabin block. Don't get me wrong, I love the way they look, but it's really hard to cut strips and keep them squared and from bowing. We'll see how it looks when it's finished!

The top block was 1st block that I did: It turned out pretty good. The second block is good, but I'm not keen on how the center blocks meld together, it's hard to see (in the picture at least) that it is 3 separate blocks. (If you want to seem them bigger, just click on the picture).

Clearly I'm not artistically or craftily inclined at all...but I think it's awesome! What a great hobby.
