"Oh whistle while you work..."

Well I got some things done this weekend and others started. Saturday we went and looked at the shop space that my parents are interested in for their business. It's a pretty decent space, but it definitely needs work and heat! That's right, there's no heat in the building.

Matt spent Saturday afternoon brewing and I ran to O-town to pick up some different yellow fabric and some paint for the nursery.

Here's the (almost) finished quilt top. Last night I stitched all of the blocks together. Tonight I'm hoping to get the border (which is the darker pink) done, and the binding will be done in the blue.
Then I have to quilt it. I still haven't decided on that. I don't really want to send it out, as it would about $50 for that, but I don't know if I want to deal with it myself. I have 2 months before the baby shower, so I'm thinking I might try and hand-quilt it myself. The finished size will be around 40".

Last summer I spent part of my vacation painting the room we plan to use as a nursery. I had wanted a Beatrix Potter border around the middle of the room, but there doesn't seem to be any Beatrix Potter stuff in existance. So I decided to paint a middle strip around the room and put wallies (bought from ebay) on that part, to create me own border.

The paint I bought this weekend was the middle color, it's Palm Breeze, by Behr. I think it should work quite nicely. I have some of the wallies already, but I think I want to get one pack (if I can find them) of just Peter Rabbit.

The rest of the stuff for the room (crib set etc) I'll end up having to make, but not right now.

Love the green, completely and utterly. Surprised that there's no Beatrix Potter items, but think the Wallies look great and are a good idea.
