It is done....

Well, I've finished it....Matt's quilt. This is my first actual quilt, so please be kind. It's hanging a little funny, but that's because it's on the clothes line. I folded it up and it is pretty darn square (major concern). I just have to iron it and ship it off to the lady to quilt it.
The pattern is from Fat Quarter Quilts by M'lissa Rae Hawley

It turned out great! What does it mean to have someone "quilt" it?

"Quilt" means that you make a sandwich: the top (in the post), batting (cotton filling), and the backing (a large piece of plain fabric which will be the underside of the quilt).

Once these layers are together you "quilt", or stitch through, all the layers so that they are held together into one piece :-)

here's the definition:
1. To make into a quilt by stitching (layers of fabric) together.
2. To construct like a quilt: quilt a skirt.
3. To pad and stitch ornamentally.

I mentioned some weeks ago that it was very beautiful, and it still is.
You are very talented. The color combination is just great.
I see someone else had the same question--thanks for clarifying.
Best wishes & God Bless
Anna.

Oh well that makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.

WOW. That is really cool. I had no idea how quilting works. I didn't realize there was a step after the top layer but that sure makes sense. it looks great!

Good luck in your cycle.
