Well today I did that which some people may consider crazy: I painted our future nursery. We bought the paint when we started TTC and it's been sitting in the basement ever since. Over the past couple of weeks we've decided that it was time to get the nursery started...that's right...with no baby in sight!
We know there is a baby in our near future; we know in our hearts that by next summer we will be a mommy and daddy. That and the paint isn't going to last forever....so here it is:
THE BEFORE PICTURES
The colors are Behr's Disney's Christopher Robin's Swing (green) and Brand New Day (yellow). There is still a lot of work to do in here: We have to replace the current window, put down carpeting, install a ceiling fan (doing tomorrow), finish the closet, curtains, blinds (tomorrow), crown molding, reupholster the glider, and a border where the two colors meet.
We already have the furniture: The crib is disassembled in the closet, the dresser is in the before picture, and the glider. We do want to build a bookcase to go where the step-stool is between the doors.
I'm making all of the curtains and bedding for the room, because I can't find what I want, which is Beatrix Potter. You wouldn't think it would be that hard to find it, but it is...especially one that is nice.

Wow, very nice! You guys did a great job! The room looks perfect for the little baby girl or boy who will be coming sometime next year. :)
how darling! what a great project to get started...and i love the verse :) Thanks for visiting--I'm loving ICLW!
The room looks gorgeous! I love those colors.
It's looking good! Can't wait to see more pictures as the room progressively turns into a nursery!
Wow, the room looks absolutely beautiful! A friend painted her nursery in almost the exact same colors and found a really cute bedding set that was yellow and black checked.
It looks great! I am totally impressed. Our "nursery" is Josie's room and contains the crib in a box along w/a changing table from when we were matched w/the scammer birth mother.
I don't think it's crazy at all... I think it's brave, if anything. And a wonderful outward manifestation of HOPE which can be hard to come by for girls like us. The room is beautiful!
