Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional. ~Chili Davis

Thank you to all of your for your birthday wishes! I truly appreciate them!

All in all it was a good birthday. My sister and I spent the day together shopping. Being that her birthday was 10 days ago, we had decided to not buy each other gifts, but to split gas and lunch and spend the day together.

I think I may be a lucky charm, for others, when it comes to shopping. My sister found a ton of great deals and some really awesome clothes. I came home with 2 books: Irish Girls about Town and The Book that Changed My Life. Matt had given me $100, as part of my birthday gift, to go shopping with. I came home with all of it.

In the evening my parents and grandfather and Matt's parents and grandparents came down for dessert. My mom had baked a chocolate layer cake with raspberry filling and Matt's mom had baked bread pudding with bourbon sauce. It was all delicious!

I definitely got some great birthday gifts: Matt got me a baseball bat and glove (yes, I asked for that), my parents got me a tea pot (which I've decided to start collecting), Matt's parents got me a kitchen scale, his grandparents gave us monogrammed pillowcases (embroidered by his grandma), Matt's sister got me gardening clogs and some new gloves, and my grandfather gave me $25 dollars, which went toward my Electric Quilt 6 software (which I promptly ordered after everyone left).

A couple of my sister's friends came over, so I made them go out in the yard and play baseball with me for a little while. I do have to say that I've still got "it"; cracked that ball out of the park!

All in all it was a good day!
