This morning we got up, since it was Matt's day off, and headed out to look at a car, a 2008 Chr.ysler T&C Touring to be precise. We took our infant car seat and it looks like we might be able to squeeze 3 across in the back seat, with a seat belt install rather than latch.
We really liked it. I felt comfortable in the car (which I do not like MIL's 2005...so not comfortable!), it rode really nice, it's fully loaded (right down to heated seats!), and it's in great condition.
Of course now we're down to the money game....which I always hate. Fortunately our local bank, who works with this dealership, has a special 2.65% loan rate promo right now. The dealer however, doesn't want to give us much for the Honda ($9500), but they were going to look into whether they could give us more (since the don't negotiate on sticker prices).
If we can get them to give us the KBB on the Honda (which is $10,300) and a bit extra since we're including our studded snows, then we might be able to get the car. It means financing a little bit, but the payment would be less than we're currently making to Matt's grandfather on the Honda; we would be paying more on the loan after the fair and such anyways, so it would be paid off sooner too.
So, pretty much, if everything goes through...you're looking at our new car.
