Uhhhh....

So my closest friend got engaged on New Year's Eve and still hasn't told me. Her dad was in the store today and told me.

Why do I have a bad feeling about this?

(background: Over a year ago she asked me how I knew Matt was the one, my answer: "I know I could live without him, but I don't want to". She's been with this guy for a couple of years and they always just have struck me as friends, completely platonic and totally nothing sexual at all....no passion. I have a feeling that the only reason she is getting married is because her sister is (who's younger) and she's turning 28 this month and feeling like this is what she's supposed to do....I hope I'm wrong).

uh oh that doesn't sound very good. My best friend was pregnant and didn't tell me. I found out in a very round about way it was pretty hurtful

My greatest fear for my friends that are single is that they'll settle. I want them to have what I have with DH and since most are over 30, I think some might be.

Here's the thing (not trying to be rude, just trying to add my two cents) on marriage generally. The only people who can truly tell why a couple is together is those two people. Not every relationship must be the same, and not every relationship will look the same from the outside.

Specifically, I'm sorry that your BFF hasn't told you though. That does seem weird.
